About Stefanie
I was born and raised in Monterey County. My love of the accounting practice stems from my mother who owned a tax practice for many years and taught me the value of financial responsibility from a young age. After completing my education in business with a concentration on accounting at Golden Gate University, I started Shields Bookkeeping in Carmel in 2012. My original goal was to supplement the family income while my husband was still growing his computer repair and networking company. Within a matter of a months, I became a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and was bookkeeping full-time through a constant stream of referrals. After careful consideration of how I wanted to grow my company, I acquired Bookkeeping Central in 2022. I knew Ileen had a wonderful team and great clients and I’m thrilled to be working with each one. While not working, my hobbies are basically anything I can do with my husband and son from playing video games as a family to cleaning out the garage together.

Sonja Brisard
Operations Manager

Accountant Sonja Brisard brings a wealth of experience, talent, and personal drive to every small business client. She spent 20 years at Navistar, a Fortune 500 company. In that corporate environment, she became highly skilled in financial planning and analysis. She also developed an extensive understanding of sales, marketing, manufacturing, and purchasing.

“I enjoy accounting and finance because I believe numbers tell a story,” Sonja says. “I like to figure out what that story is.”

Her background in corporate finance—with books that were reviewed and closed monthly—was an immediate asset to small business clients who weren’t comfortable wearing a bookkeeper’s hat.

“I really enjoy putting together a set of financial statements when someone is very far behind,” she says. “It’s rewarding to organize data in a way that can be looked at so behaviors can be changed, with better financial results.”

Bobbi Dewitt

Bobbi DeWitt, Account Specialist

I came to Bookkeeping Central with 27 years of bookkeeping experience. I had been living in Washington State and Idaho, but in 2012 I returned to CA where I had grown up. After many years of punching a clock in a traditional full-charge bookkeeping setting I was ready for the flexibility and variety a position with BKC had to offer. I am enjoying working with the many different industries represented by the BKC clients. It keeps things interesting!

Jackie Reynaud

Jackie Reynaud, Payroll Administrator

I came to the Bookkeeping Central team with a varied administrative background: Admin Assistant/city government, Assistant Manager/mini storage facility, Admin Child and Youth Services Division/Department of Defense. I believe my fascination with numbers stemmed from years of helping my grandfather keep his one man tax business in order. I thoroughly enjoy assisting our clients in keeping their finances in order, and “solving puzzles” as Ileen puts it. It is a rewarding experience to know that our team helps small businesses thrive.

Violet Sanchez

Violet Sanchez, Account Administrator

Working at Bookkeeping Central has reignited my passion for learning. I obtained an AS in Accounting prior to joining the BKC team, but I am currently studying for my BA in accounting at Grand Canyon University. I enjoy working with clients to help them understand their books. Each client is unique and I appreciate the attention to detail that we provide. In my free time I enjoy being in the outdoors, taking long walks with my chocolate lab, Tula, and spending time with my family.
